Questions?
Q: How are the donations distributed among the widows supported by Somebody Cares?
A: All donations are combined and distributed equitably among the widows we support. We assess the monthly needs of each widow and provide each one with a portion of the funds that meets her situation. Typically widows with children receive a larger portion than widows living alone, unless there are other factors at work, like a medical issue or other special need.
Q: When are widows added to the support list by Somebody Cares?
A: To ensure we can provide consistent and sustained assistance, we add widows to our support list once we have received donations to cover a full quarter of their needs. This approach helps us deliver reliable and effective support to each widow.
Q: Can I communicate with the widows I support through Somebody Cares?
A: While we understand the desire to connect with the widows you support, the logistics of facilitating individual communications would significantly increase the resources required, potentially reducing the support available for the widows themselves. Instead, we partner with dedicated field teams who regularly provide updates and testimonies about the impact of our work. We will share these stories with you periodically, though they will not cover every widow each time.
